GearVU® is a comparative gear measurement software package uniquely designed for shop floor non-contact systems such as the Slone Gear’s PIVOT™ & probe-based systems such as Renishaw’s EQUATOR™.

Learn More

GageVU™ is a software package that supports GearVU®; it is currently available for probe-based, CMM style hardware platforms (i.e. the Renishaw EQUATOR™). GageVU™ was also designed for the shop floor and measures basic geometric features related to a gear (i.e. parallelism, perpendicularity, concentricity, PD runout, distances, diameters, roundness, parallelism of two axis, flatness, DOB, etc.)

RollVU™ is a software package designed for Slone Gear’s motorized, semi-automatic, or fully automatic roll testers. It measures total composite, tooth-to-tooth, runout, and functional tooth thickness.

RollVU™ is an intuitive, user friendly, and comprehensive software package with customizable tolerancing. Like the rest of our software suite, RollVU™ includes data storage & retrieval capabilities.

For your convenience, RollVU™ has built-in standards for AGMA, DIN, and ISO tolerancing

SpanVU™ is a software package for use with Slone Gear’s Span Mics that make an easy measurement of tooth thickness on large gears (greater than 2 feet in diameter) which reduces the reach across large parts and lowers measurement uncertainty.

FAST, NON-CONTACT GEAR MEASUREMENT

This in-process measurement system provides analytical results at the point of manufacturing. Catch suspect gears at the grinder and avoid costly consequences further down the line. With a potential 6-12 month payback, the PIVOT™ should be considered for any high-volume, high-accuracy gear production application

OILY GEARS

Slone Gear is the first and only to successfully measure profile form error with an oil film present using non-contact technology. This eliminates the need for washing gears and pinions prior to measurement.

CONFIGURATIONS

We can offer a fully automated, in-line configuration for installation on-board the grinding machine or adjacent to the grinding machine (learn more). Additionally, we offer an off-line, mobile cart configuration (learn more) as shows in the image to the left.

SLONE GEAR ROLL TESTER – DOUBLE FLANK

Our SGRT™ Double Flank is a shop proven, durable system for jobs 1-10 inches in diameter. Our highly flexible systems can accommodate a wide variety of part types and be setup to inspect both external and internal gears. We offer MANUAL and MOTORIZED configurations as shown.

OVERVIEW

Roll Testers are designed to inspect or sort a high volume of parts on the shop floor quickly, providing quite a bit of information.

The gear to be checked is engaged with a master gear in tight mesh and rolls with no backlash. Various types of tooth deviations result in changes to the center distance of the mesh. By measuring the change in center distance, gear quality can be evaluated.

We supply master gears and tooling for a complete turnkey solution for any size company.

MEASUREMENTS/TOLERANCES

The SGRT™ measures center distance, total composite, tooth-to-tooth, radial runout, normal C.T.T., DOP (calculated) and span (calculated). If setting discs are purchased, it will also measure tooth size/thickness.

System repeatability is typically within 5 microns.
